On 3rd October 2025, Partners For Conservation (PFC) together with the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda, Rubengera Presbytery, launched the first-ever faith-based environmental club at Bucyeye Parish in Mukura Sector, Rutsiro District, in Western Province of Rwanda
The club named Inyenyeri (meaning “Stars") brings together women and youth inspired by faith to protect nature and improve their livelihoods. Guided by their belief in stewardship and love for creation, members will lead environmental and welfare activities such as tree planting, training, and community dialogues.
With PFC’s support, the women received 11 sewing machines, materials and a six-month training program to build economic resilience while promoting conservation. The church leaders praised the initiative for empowering women and youth to take an active role in safeguarding the environment and uplifting their communities.
The event was graced by PFC Founder Mr. Bugingo, Board Director Ms. Aline, and international volunteers Scott (USA) and Jazel (Uganda) — a beautiful celebration of faith, partnership, and purpose.
